Patrick is an internationally-renowned scientist, co-author of over 200 articles in leading journals, supervisor of more than 50 PhD students, and involved in numerous industrial transfers. He is the co-author, with Tamer Özsu, of the seminal book on Distributed Database Systems. Throughout his career, Patrick has received several awards and distinctions, including the Best Paper Award in prestigious conferences such as VLDB, the ACM Fellow title, and the Innovation Prize from Inria - Académie des Sciences - Dassault Systems. Patrick has continuously supported the transfer of technology between academia and industry and is currently the chief scientific officer at LeanXcale. In 2023, he was awarded the title of Emeritus Director of Research at Inria. In this new role, he amplifies his activities in Brazil as a leading researcher in the strategic partnership between Inria and the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (LNCC). Patrick Valduriez has also been appointed as a Collaborator at LNCC, where his experience and knowledge enrich the Data Extreme Lab team.
