Associate Professor at the UFRJ Computing Institute and Graduate Program in Informatics (PPGI/UFRJ) member. She coordinated the Bachelor of Decision Support Analysis with a focus on Data Science (2012-2017) and the Graduate Program in Informatics (2017-2019). She has coordinated the Laboratory CORES (Laboratory of Social Computing and Social Network Analysis), which conducts multidisciplinary research to understand, simulate and foster social interactions. She was visiting researcher at the Insight Center for Data Analytics (Ireland, 2015). Also, she is a consultant and evaluator of national and international research and development projects. She is the Ministry of Education (MEC) evaluator of higher education courses. She graduated in Computer Science from UFRJ (2001). She obtained a master's degree (2003) and a doctorate (2007) in Systems and Computer Engineering, with emphasis on Database, from COPPE / UFRJ. During her doctorate, she received the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award, being the only Brazilian to receive such an award at the time. She completed her Post-Doctorate at the same institution, concluding it in 2008. Currently, she is carrying out a sabbatical leave at LNCC. Her main areas of research are Data Science and Social Computing, focusing on Big Social Data (treatment, management, and knowledge extraction). She has extensive experience in such areas, with more than 200 published articles, dozens of supervisory activities, courses (undergraduate, master, and doctorate), lectures, mini-courses, participation in events, and involvement in national and international research projects (as a member and as a leader). She has received awards and honorable mentions for her publications and supervisory activities. She is involved in the editorial and program committees of events and periodicals in these areas and in organizing events and special issues in journals.
