Luiz Gadelha holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Brasília (1997), a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Brasília (2000) and a D.Sc. in Computer and Systems Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2012), which included an internship at the University of Chicago (2010). He is currently a Senior Technologist at the Data Extreme Lab (DEXL) of the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing. He has experience in the areas of scientific data management and high performance computing, working mainly on the following topics: provenance, parallel and distributed scientific workflows, bioinformatics and information technology in biodiversity.
D.Sc. in Computational Modeling at LNCC (National Laboratory for
Scientific Computing) with focus on Computational Biology and
Bioinformatics. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at INCA
(Brazilian National Institute of Cancer). Her work involves themes such
as multi-omics data integration and oncovirology. Frequently, she uses
e-science approaches including no-SQL databases (especially graph
databases), scientific workflows and HPC(High-Performance Computing).
Yania Molina Souto graduated in Informatics from University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) in Havana, Cuba (2007). She obtained the masters degree in Bioinformatic by InsTEC in Havana, Cuba (2010), and the Ph.D. degree in Computational Modeling at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (LNCC) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2018). She has experience in computer science, with emphasis on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, mainly in the following areas: Data Base, Data Analysis, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Uncertainty Quantification.
Graduated in Information Systems from Universidade Estácio de Sá (2010).
Postgraduate in Planning, Implementation and Management in EAD
from Universidade Federal Fluminense (2016). Experience as a Linux
systems analyst in several services such as WEB, E-Mail, HPC, Hadoop and
Bachelor degree in “Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação” from
Fundação de Apoio à Escola Técnica do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
Analysis, storage and Data management with emphasis in Big Data,
Parallel Processing, Pre-processing and Indexation Techniques (Ph-Tree,
QuadTree) are his research interests. Experience on developing parallel
applications with Apache Spark e Apache Hadoop frameworks in the
following programming languages: Python, R and Java.
After a couple of
decades in the ICT industry, Klaus Wehmuth came back to academia to pursue a
Ph.D. in Computational Modeling at the National Laboratory for Scientific
Computing (LNCC), a research unit of the Brazilian Ministry of Science,
Technology, Innovation and Communication (MCTIC) located in Petrópolis, Brazil.
Currently, he holds a B.Sc. degree in Information Systems, a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in
A Ph.D. student at the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) and also a software developer, Anderson Silva has a M.Sc. degree in Systems and Computing from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME) since 2018. He has defended his dissertation in the area of Spectral Graph Theory, presenting theorems and heuristics for the Maximum Algebraic Connectivity Augmentation Problem. In the same year, he worked at LNCC on high-performance computing tasks. He has received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Universitary Center Serra dos Órgãos (Unifeso) in Teresópolis (Brazil) in 2014, where he developed a system that used image processing techniques, in Python. He has also worked both as an instructor and in the development of commercial systems.
Graduaded as a Telecommunications Technician by CEFET and currently
studying Information Technology and Communication by FAETERJ. I have
professional experience at Globosat Programadora Ltda working in the
Technical Center Reception of Signals and later working as Image
Director in the period of the Rio 2016 Olympics covering various events.
It was the biggest coverage in the history of the Olympic Games.. I am
currently working on the project titled Metric Indexing in Space
Junctions in Dexl Lab (Extreme Data Lab) under the guidance of Prof.Dr.
Fábio Porto where I work with database index, data analysis and software
development for solutions in astronomy.
Graduated in Mathematics from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2012), graduated in Technologist in Information and Communication Technology from the Faculty of Technological Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2012), graduation in Mechatronics Engineering from Universidade Católica de Petrópolis (2012) and master's degree in Computational Modeling - National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (2014). He is currently an assistant professor at the Catholic University of Petrópolis and a doctoral student in Computational Modeling by the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing.
Graduated in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor in Science and Technology and Physical Engineering From the Federal University of the West of Pará. During the graduation I had experiences with the modeling of vehicles in ansys, modeling and implementation of photovoltaic solar systems, Hadoop and machine learning techniques with emphasis on Deep Learning. I am currently a master student at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (LNCC) under the guidance of Prof. Fabio Porto, having as areas of interest: Big Data, machine learning.
Hermano Lustosa graduted in Computer Science from the Centro
Universitário Serra dos Órgãos and holds a master's degree in Scientific
Computing obtained at the Brazil's National Lab for Scientific
Computing. He works in software developement, and researches simulation
data management in the context of the DEXL Lab. He also teaches at the
Centro Universitário Serra dos Órgãos - Teresópolis - Brazil.
Matheus R. F. Mendonça is currently a Phd candidate in
Computational Modeling at the National Laboratory for Scientific
Computing (LNCC), located in the city of Petrópolis, RJ, Brazil. In
2013, he received a B.Sc. degree in Exact Sciences, followed by a B.Sc.
degree in Computer Science in 2014 and a M.Sc. degree in Computer
Science in 2016, all obtained at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora
(UFJF), located in the city of Juiz de Fora, MG, Brazil. His research is
focused mainly in the application of Machine Learning methods for
solving problems from the Network Science research area. The main focus
of my current research are: Reinforcement Learning, Supervised Learning
(Neural Networks and Deep Learning models) and Network Centrality
Graduated in Mathematics from the IFRJ (Instituto Federal do Rio de Janeiro) (2018) and currently holds a Masters in Computational Modeling at the LNCC (Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica) with research in the area of Network Science. Has experience in Mathematics and Computation, working mainly in the following subjects: Monte Carlo Simulation, Algebra I, Integral Calculus and Programming.
My name is Rafael Silva Pereira, i am a bachelor in Physics by Universidade Federal Fluminense(UFF), graduated in 2018. On my graduation i worked on complex systems both with differential equations as well as using game theory and agent based models. There i was first introduced to data science which is the field i currently work on as a masters degree student in LNCC, where i work in the problems of image classification using Deep Learning, Data cleaning via statitical analysis, as well as pattern recgoniction on texts using text mining.
