19º Simpósio Brasileiro de Computação Aplicada à Saúde - SBCAS 2019

Event Info

The Brazilian Symposium on Computation Applied to Health (SBCAS) is one of the main forums for scientific dissemination and meeting of researchers in the areas of computing and health. The SBCAS is the main national event organized by the Special Committee on Applied Computing to Health (CE-CAS) of the Brazilian Society of Computing (SBC). SBCAS had its origin in the Medical Informatics Workshop (WIM), a consolidated and nationally recognized event, with 17 editions held regularly between 2001 and 2017. From 2018, WIM was renamed SBCAS.

The main purpose of the event's name and status change was to establish an updated brand with an increasingly interdisciplinary field of research, as well as to intensify SBC's presence in the community in the area, providing greater impact and visibility. SBCAS 2018 was held from July 23 to 25, 2018 in Natal, as a satellite event of the Congress of the Brazilian Society of Computing (CSBC).

SBCAS 2019 will be held for the first time as an independent event at the Computer Science Institute of the Federal Fluminense University, in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, from June 11 to 14, 2019. The event aims to develop activities focused on various themes, such as artificial intelligence applied to health, signal processing and medical imaging, computer-aided diagnosis, clinical decision support systems, the Internet of Things applied to health, wireless body networks, new innovative therapies through games virtual and augmented reality, multimedia immersive systems, etc.

The program is very interesting and diversified with a duration of four days and includes the presentation of mini-courses, technical sessions with presentations of accepted articles in the event, session of demos, competition of theses and dissertations, lectures, round tables and a hackathon on challenges in the area of health.
