The Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET / RJ) is a federal institution, linked to the Ministry of Education, which is willing to offer high school, technical courses and higher education. Their teaching, whether high school, technical courses or higher, are considered of excellence, mainly between companies and industries that seek engineers and technicians. Its headquarters are located in the district of Maracanã (Rio de Janeiro), where Campus I (Maracanã) is located. The first UNED of the CEFET / RJ System was created in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, CEFET / RJ Uned NI, in the Baixada Fluminense and inaugurated on August 22, 2003. The UNED (Decentralized Education Unit) Maria da Graça is located in Maria da Graça, next to the subway station of the same name. Campus Canabarro is located on the same side of the building Horta Barbosa (belonging to the BR) of the General Canabarro street, next to the 1º de Maio College [3], and in front of the Maracanã Campus. There are also the UNED of Petrópolis in the Serrana Region, Nova Friburgo in the Fluminense Center in addition to the Itaguaí Campus created in partnership with Vale. It also has a television channel transmitted mainly through the internet, TV Cefet / RJ. [4] On June 30, 2011, the new director general, Carlos Henrique Figueiredo Alves, was elected vice-chairman of the previous management, [5] [6] being re-elected in 2015. [7] One of its proposals of campaign was to lead the institution next to Cefet-MG by the joint transformation of the two institutions to the category of Technological University
